After receiving the Artists International Development Fund, Jennifer returned to Egypt to work with Ezzat Ezzat Contemporary Dance Studios (EECDS).
Building on an initial professional development residency in 2014, Jennifer has been collaborating with 5 artists from Ezzat Ezzat Contemporary Dance Studio to develop their work in progress; Betay (Mine) into a full-length piece. The result was presented at Townhouse Rawabet Theatre in Cairo as part of the first ever By Chance Festival, co-produced by and showcasing collaborations between artists from Egypt and the UK, USA, Canada, Wales and the Netherlands.
Also as part of her research, Jennifer met artists and organizations from a range disciplines, attended the Downtown Cairo Arts Festival (D-CAF) and Nassim El Raqs Festival of outdoor performance in Alexandria and looked into contemporary performing arts in Egypt.
This project is supported by the Artists’ International Development Fund, a jointly funded program from the British Council and Arts Council England.
